Introducing Acupuncture

This websites gives a brief introduction to Acupuncture and introduces my own practice to those who might like to come for treatment. I specialise in treating mental-emotional problems including depression, anxiety, stress and sleep disorders. As a member of the team at the University of Bristol Sports Medicine Clinic, Leisa has considerable experience in treating sports injuries and other musculoskeletal problems.

Acupuncture is a system of medicine that has been practised in China for thousands of years.  It is a holistic or ‘whole body’ approach to maintaining health. It aims to treat the underlying cause of an illness rather than focussing on only alleviating symptoms.

Acupuncture has proven itself to be very effective in treating many common ailments. It also helps us to have more energy, greater vitality and to feel more relaxed and less stressed.

Acupuncture is becoming more commonly practised in the West and practitioners adhere to high standards of professional conduct and hygiene as set by organisations such as the British Acupuncture Council and the British Register of Complementary Practitioners.
